April Latif

April Latif age 68, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at Wexner Medical Center on May 8, 2025. She was born in Newark, New Jersey on April 9, 1957, to Dorothy and Richard DuBois. April made her way to Ohio as an adult with her late husband, Issam Latif and has resided there since.

April had a life marked by deep challenges. She always responded not with bitterness, but with grace, quiet strength, and a fierce determination to and for those she loved.

April found immense joy in being a Mother and Gigi. She shared that all she wanted was for her children to feel safe, loved, and protected. She managed that and so much more.

April was an avid baker. She made the most delicious chocolate chip cookies. She was the person who made it a priority to check in on loved ones and made everyone she came into contact with feel welcomed.

April was quirky. She had a light-hearted, silly personality and always kept a positive attitude. Every one of her friends and family knew which "national observance day" it was due to April's “fun fact of the day” on her Facebook posts, (naturally, her favorite was always national margarita day). She loved a good theme when it came to parties and took great pride in working with children throughout her career.

Though life was often difficult, she remained someone who showed up for others, even when her own heart was heavy.

April is survived by her beloved children, Juliann Latif and Sam Latif, and her grandaughter Chandler Marvin. She was preceded in death by her daughter Danielle Latif and husband, Issam Latif.

Per April's wishes, her remains were cremated.

A memorial service for April will be held on June 14, 2025 from 11-1pm at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 34 W 2nd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

April will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
