Barbara Jane Newton, 68, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. She was born July 19, 1957, to Virginia Kidwell and Charles Walton.
Barbara retired from Walmart as a Customer Service Manager. She enjoyed stained glass and cross-stitch, and cherished time spent with her family.
She is survived by her son, Adam (Hannah) Newton; her stepchildren, Amy Newton and Nicole (Marvin) Patterson; her grandchildren, Isabella, Levi, Sebastian, Lizzy, Leah, Savannah, Rochelle, Alex, Desiray, and Chelsea; her great-grandchildren, Rosalie, Jessie, Riley, Baylee, Scarlet, Raylan, Ryder, and Rebel; and her sisters, Paula Walton and Peggy Lamb.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lee Newton; her parents, Virginia Kidwell and Charles Walton; and her sisters, Becky Baldwin and Jeannie Beach.
A memorial gathering will be held on March 28, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Apple Valley Clubhouse, 3725 Apple Valley Drive, Howard, OH 43028.
