Benjamin Rueben Dapice, 83, passed away on March 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Ben was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, and built a life defined by hard work, humor, and a quiet kind of strength. On February 9, 1963, he married, Linda McNeal, and together they created a family that remained at the center of everything he did.
He was a kind and giving man, known for his stubbornness just as much as his heart. Ben loved animals, especially his dog, Thunder. In his younger years, he even had a pet alligator and pony. He found joy in the simple things—golfing with his sons, collecting coins, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
More than anything, he loved his family. He is survived by his children, Brenda Dolan (John Goodman), George, Joann (Brian Roop), and Ben; his grandchildren Kristin (Nikki), Brad, Scott, Ashly, Dustin, Kerri, Rachelle, Cody, and Anthony; and 15 great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.
Ben was the kind of man who showed up, who stayed steady, and who made people feel taken care of. The time spent with him—whether in laughter, quiet moments, or shared stories—will remain a part of those who loved him.
His presence will be missed in the everyday moments where he always seemed to be, and his memory will continue to live on in the family he built and the lives he shaped. As Ben would say, and now from all of us, "Love you later."
