Bruce Owen Bradley

Bruce Owen Bradley passed away on December 7, 2025, just weeks shy of his 97th birthday. He lived a long, full life marked by intellectual curiosity, independence, adventure and a wide range of accomplishments.

Born on December 30, 1928, Bruce graduated from The Ohio State university in 1950, where he majored in Optometry and was a member of Epsilon Psi Epsilon, Beta Chapter. He later served honorably in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957.

Bruce shared many years of life with his long-time companion and best friend, Gloria DePietro. Bruce is survived by his children, Patricia Bradley Lytle and Steven & Donna Bradley. His grandchildren, Abbie & Kyle Sasser, Franklin Bradley, Devin & Chloe Lytle, Ethan Lytle, Samuel Jake Bradley, and Noah Lytle. He was also the great grandfather of Louis and Lilly Lytle, whom he took pride in as the newest generation of the family.

Bruce built a successful career as an optometrist, owning and operating his own Optometry practice. He was known for his knowledge, business acumen, and dedication to his profession. A man of many interests and talents, Bruce embrace life with energy and curiosity. He earned his pilots license and found joy and flying, and he was an avid sailor who loved time on the water. His passion for travel took him throughout Central and South America, with Costa Rica being his favorite destination.

He also enjoyed snow skiing, was a competitive ballroom dancer, practiced, and taught tai chi, valuing physical discipline and balance. Bruce loved reading and researching a wide range of subjects, reflecting his lifelong dedication to learning. Bruce lived life on his own terms, curious, engaged, and continuously exploring new pursuits. He’ll be remembered for his intellect, independence and legacy he leaves through his family and Life‘s work.

Services will be held for Bruce Owen Bradley at Marion Cemetery on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 11:30.
