Bryan Lee Martindale, of Lancaster, Ohio, entered the presence of the Lord on January 1, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1959, at Fairfield Medical Center and was the son of the late William and Rachael Martindale.
He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1977 and lived a life marked by hard work, humility, and service to others. A true jack of all trades, Bryan retired from custom kitchen cabinet making. His hands were rarely still — if something needed built, fixed, or figured out, he was there. From cars to home projects and everything in between, he took joy in helping others and never shied away from a task.
Bryan found peace and purpose outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and “loving everyday,” embracing the simple blessings God gives us. He had a way of making strangers into friends and friends into family. His heart was big, his generosity steady, and his presence comforting. Bryan would do anything for anyone, expecting nothing in return. Those who knew him felt truly seen and cared for, and the world is gentler because he was in it.
He is survived by his spouse, Penny; his children Isaac, Rachel, Brian, and Brandon; and his five grandchildren who were the lights of his life. He is also survived by his loyal dog and best friend, Buddy, who rarely left his side.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Bryan is whole, at peace, and held in God’s eternal care. His legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength will live on in the lives he touched, and the family he cherished.
“He lived simple, loved hard, and didn’t waste daylight.”
