Christopher James Balsimo, 65, Groveport, Ohio peacefully passed away July 11, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born September 18, 1960 and was the son of the late Frank Balsimo and Bette (Cole) McNeal.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Spence (Sherry ) Balsimo and Frank (Terry) Balsimo and his faithful companion and favorite pet Ganard (Nardo).
Chris was a spectacular athlete during his high school years at Groveport Madison particularly in football. He caught the eyes of Woody Hayes who took him to OSU to receive treatment for a knee injury, as well as many other college scouts. His extreme dedication to his family curbed this future and he worked just as hard to secure their happiness. Chris worked for Spartan Warehouse for over 25 years taking on various roles including Dispatcher, Manager, and finally Truck Driver where it was said “anything he touched turned into money”. He was a staunch Cleveland Browns fan. He followed them as much during the off season as he did during the season. He always hoped to see them in a Super Bowl game and believed that they could one day accomplish this. Chris also enjoyed playing golf until back injuries forced him to become an armchair pro. He loved spending time with his children and grand children and immensely enjoyed watching high school softball from the comforts of home. Chris worked harder than most to provide for his family and will be greatly missed and cherished by many.
Chris is survived by his wife of 24 years Karen (Lada) Balsimo, his children Danielle Balsimo , Joshua Balsimo, Sierra (Jonathen) Nabarrette, Alec Balsimo, his step-children Kayla (Daniel) Enochs, and Joel (McKenna) Enochs, grand children Kylie, James, Elijah, Jonathen, Jaxon, Knoxley, Lucy, Brody, Miles, and Jones. He is also survived by his siblings: Caroline (James) O'Conner, Samuel (Jeanine)Balsimo,Anna Marie (Henry) Carter, David McNeal, and Charles (Chuck) McNeal as well as many nieces and nephews.
