Conn L Roberts

November 2, 1942 — May 19, 2025

Conn L Roberts (Connie) of McConnelsville, OH joined his loves ones in his eternal home on May 19, 2025.

Conn also known as "Rob" by his friends was born Nov. 2, 1942 at his childhood home in McConnelsville, OH and was the son of the late Everette Roberts and the late Bernice (Barnes) Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles and his first wife Teresa K. (Shook) Roberts.

Conn attended Ohio University where he obtained a BA in History and a BA in Library Science. While attending College he joined the Army National Guard and was a proud member for 25 years as a Medical Sargent. He taught school a few years , was a school Librarian, sold Real Estate, and eventually followed his passion dealing in rare books, antiques and pipe tobacco. You rarely saw him without his pipe! He was an avid reader and enjoyed a good auction or flea market. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing and sitting on the porch smoking his pipe and petting the dogs. He was a life long member of the Morgan County Gun Club along with his sister Peggy.

Over the years as a huge dog lover, he and Mary, his long time companion, took in any dog that needed a home, sometimes having more than 30 at a time! We would laugh and say his heavenly mansion would be a kennel!

Conn will be missed greatly by those who Loved Him. He added a colorful outlook to our lives. Conn was a believer and that gives those of us grieving his loss a feeling of peace and joy that he is "home".

He is survived by his daughter, Robyn (Chad) Spangler; grandsons, Christian and Tylleston Spangler; sister, Peggy (Larry) Wise; niece, Lynette Wise; and great nephew, Gavyn Mills. He also leaves to mourn his longtime companion, Mary Tom who loved him dearly and his loyal fur baby, Brindle who never left his side.

The family has deep appreciation for the kind comfort care he received from the staff at the Morrison House Hospice Care including; John Davis, Amy Clough, Amy Weaver, Robin Franklin and Anissa. A very special thank you to our dear friend Stacy McFadden for her support and guidance.

A Celebration of Life has been planned for June 20th at 5:00pm at the Morgan County Gun Club. In his memory, donations can be made to Genesis Morrison House , or any animal rescue organization.
