There once was man named David Houser, who hailed from Columbus, Ohio. Beyond his children, BethAnn (Houser) Earl and his son Greg Houser, he loved his close friends, the beauty of the earth, a nice scotch, and good jazz.
Born in 1937, he grew up during the depression, joined the Air Force at 17, was stationed Morocco then returned to Ohio when he was discharged . In the 1980s he lived in Germany for several years, exploring Europe.
He was active in the Columbus jazz community most of his life, co-hosting the OSU Jazz Roundtable radio show. He enjoyed travel across the U.S. and around the globe, appreciating the natural beauty and variety of communities he found.
His life ended in August 2024. No service was held at his request and his ashes were scattered at the grave of his grandmother in Middleport, Ohio.
