David Stayner, born on July 18, 1954, in Marion, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2026, at the age of 71, in his hometown of Marion. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be dearly missed by many.
David spent his career dedicated to the lumber industry, where he earned respect and admiration as a top sales representative. With over three decades at Wolohan Lumber and an additional 25 years at Henry Lumber, David was renowned for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. His professional legacy is marked by integrity and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, David had a passion for golf, cherished time with his family, and was an avid supporter of Ohio State Football and Cleveland sports teams. He also found joy and freedom in riding motorcycles, embracing the open road with enthusiasm.
David served his community as a member of the American Legion Post 401, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the organization's mission.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carold Stayner Jr., Edith (Hurr) Stayner, and Doris Stayner. David leaves behind his loving wife, Melissa Stayner; his children, Jennifer Stayner, Yvonne Stayner, Laurie (Dan) Kearns, Alex (Taylor) Stayner, Brittany Watts, and Josh Blevins. He was a proud grandfather to Hayden, Noah, Alex, Parker, Aiden, Emma, Madalyn, Raylynn, Silas, Zoe, Allison, Crew, Hannah, and Vera. David is also survived by his siblings, Mike Stayner, Linda Miller, Ralph (Cathy) Stayner, Janet (Bill) Evans, Rick Stayner, and Bob (Carol) Stayner.
A celebration of David's life will be held on Wednesday, June 17th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST at the Steve Young Memorial Lodge 24 in Caledonia, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the memory of a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, and dedication.
David Stayner's legacy will continue to live on through the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind. May he rest in peace
