Elva Gay Elliott

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elva Gay Elliott (78) of Newark, Ohio on May 14th, a dedicated nurse who devoted 33 years of her life to caring for others. Throughout her long and impactful career, Elva touched countless lives with her compassion, unwavering commitment, and gentle spirit. Elva was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bessie and Ollie Elliott, and her dear brother, Carlos Elliott.

She is lovingly survived by her three sons: Will and (Trish) Hinds of Newark, Carl and (Karen) Hinds of Newark, Brian and (Elizabeth) Elswick of Marysville. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Zachary and (Leah Myers) Hinds; Amber and (Corbin) Nye; and Willa, Parker, and Olia Elswick.

Friends, family, and colleagues remember Elva for her love of knitting and crocheting and being self-described as ornery.

A service is planned by the family to celebrate Elva’s life on May 31st at Heath Church of Christ in the Beach room starting at 1 and service at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in her memory to Hospice of Central Ohio.
