George L Franklin

Mansfield

George was a lifelong resident of Mansfield, Ohio. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on September 16th, 2024.

Born on September 6th, 1964, in Shelby, Ohio, to Lyman "Bud" Franklin and Margaret "Whitt" Franklin, George graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1982. He proudly served in the US Army as a Patriot Missile Operator.

George worked as a truck driver for North American Freight and later owned and operated Guns And Hoses, pressure washing and construction company.

George was A avid Dale Earnhardt fan, George's CB handle was "The Intimidator." After Earnhardt. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing Saturday night poker with friends, and camping trips to Gatton Rocks with his best friend, Gene Rhea. He enjoyed getting into chaos with his pride and joy, "Sissy" his old English Bulldog.

George is survived by his daughter, Marti (David) Hardin of Mansfield, Ohio, Mashaela (Zachary) Hall/Williams of Liberty, Tennessee, and Miranda (Howard) Cole of Mansfield, Ohio. sister, Lynette (Jerry) Brewer of Stuart, Florida; brother, Hurits (Skeeter) Nolen of Mansfield, Ohio; five grandchildren, Gavin, Tori, Cameron, Carlee, and David Jr., great-grandchildren, Brayden, JJ, and expected baby Nova in February his ex-wife but lifelong friend, Regina Fife and a special neice Billie Jean Sloas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Darlene Enos, as well as his very best friend, Greg Page, a special great grandchild (angel baby).

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at SouthernCare Hospice, Ontario location for the great care given to George in his final days.

A Memorial graveside service will be held October 12th, 11am. In the Mansfield Memorial Park located in Ontario. Officiated by Brian Olar.
