Glenda Leigh Marcum, of West Milton, Ohio, passed away on September 30, 2026. Born on July 26, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, she lived a life marked by faith, creativity, and an abiding love for the world around her.
A born again Christian, Glenda was rooted deeply in her faith, which shaped every part of who she was. Her devotion to God was the foundation on which she built a life of joy and purpose, and those who knew her often found her faith to be a source of comfort and quiet strength.
Glenda was a woman of remarkable warmth and good humor. Her happiness was contagious, and she carried a lightness of spirit that brightened the lives of everyone she met. She was an accomplished artist whose talent reflected the beauty she saw all around her. A devoted lover of nature, she found particular delight in gardening, tending to her plants with the same care and attention she gave to all things she cherished.
Her family was among her greatest treasures, and she poured her love freely into those closest to her. She also held a tender affection for her beloved cat and dogs, whose companionship brought her great comfort and joy. Within her community, she was an active participant at the West Milton Senior Center, where her presence was warmly welcomed.
Glenda is survived by her son, Gary Steven Marcum; her daughter, Michelle Marie Simpson (Marcum); and her sister, Katherine "Kitty" Francen. She leaves behind a family who will carry forward the love, laughter, and faith she so generously shared.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place in the days that follow, and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the ASPCA (https://www.aspca.org/), an organization reflecting her lifelong love of animals.
As she rested in the promise of her faith, these words offered comfort: "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." May she now rest in the fullness of that joy she believed in so deeply, forever in the presence of the Lord she loved.
