Gordon Waid Hutchinson, 56, of Roseville, Ohio, passed away on April 27, 2026, at the Central Ohio Hospice Center in Newark, Ohio, following a courageous one-year battle with cancer. He was born on January 23, 1970, in Hilliard, Ohio, to Roger and Rita Hutchinson. In 1983, the family relocated to New Lexington, Ohio.
Gordon began his career at a young age as an entrepreneur in landscaping, later expanding into trucking, and most recently working in construction and real estate. He took great pride in overcoming years of opioid addiction and celebrating more than 10 years of sobriety.
He is survived by his mother, Rita Hutchinson; his significant other of 25 years, Christine Bruyn; his two sons, Joseph (Nikkia) Hutchinson and William Hutchinson; his two daughters, Nicole (David) Ditter and Kristen (Kywuanne) Blackmon; six grandchildren, Joseph, Emma, Levi, Elijah, Sophie, and Ashten; his sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Bruce Boyer; and his two brothers, Donald (Sherry) Hutchinson and Zachary Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hutchinson, and his "Pops," Peter Haritan.
At his request, no services will be held. A private celebration of life will take place with family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Cancer Alliance, P.O. Box 724, New Lexington, OH 43764.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. William Rothe and his staff, the Central Ohio Hospice Center in Newark, and the staff of the James Cancer Center on the 17th and 18th floors.
