Jackey Snavley, 68, of Ashley, Ohio, formerly of Youngstown, entered into the presence of the Lord on May 26.
He was born April 18, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio, and was the son of the late Alfred Snavley Sr. and Shirley (Tickle) Snavley.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jackson, and his sister, Deborah Snavley.
Jack worked as a welder and a press operator before becoming an over the road truck driver. He loved seeing the country, but his deepest love was for his Lord, his family, and his church. Over the years, he served his church in many roles, including board member and youth and young adult ministry leader. In recent years, he enjoyed being a "Camp Grandpa" for summer camps. He loved the outdoors, camping with his family, and hunting. Westerns, classic movies, cooking, and all things Christmas were also favorites.
Jack was a loving husband to Sara, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 45 years. He was a devoted and loving father to his son, Joshua and his daughter-in-law Sandy, and a proud grandfather to his grandson, Mason.
Jack also leaves behind his brother, Alfred Snavley Jr. and sister-in-law Ruth, niece Nancy (Eric) Ensley, brother-in-law Robert (Carol) Riley, and many family members and friends. He loved his family and friends deeply, and he will be greatly missed.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday June 10, in the Capitol Room of the Ohio Ministry Network Resource Center, 8405 Pulsar Place, Columbus, OH 43240. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM that day.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jim Palmer Senders Fund, Ohio Ministry Network Missions Dept, 8405 Pulsar Place, Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43240.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
