James Larry Fannon

James Larry Fannon, 86, formerly of 853 N. Elizabeth St., Lima, OH, died 2:35 a.m. on January 2, 2026 at Wapak Manor, Wapakoneta, OH.

He was born May 15, 1939 in St. Mary's, OH to James and Thelma Fannon, who proceeded him in death. A brother, Noel Fannon and sister in law Sandra Fannon who also proceeded him in death. James received his Bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University. Then he enlisted in the US Army where he served in the Vietnam War as a track commander in E Troop, 1st CAV., 11th LIB 1967 and 1968.

He was a teacher at Allen East Middle School, teaching science and health for 25 years before retiring.

On July 17, 1970 he married Janie D. Wolfe, who proceeded him in death on January 20, 1995.

On January 22, 2001 he married Diane "Dee" Munoz, who proceeded him in death on May 15, 2013. 

Mr. Fannon liked to joke and had a good sense of humor. He was also a good friend.

He is survived by: daughter, Charro (James) Leffler of Wapakoneta, OH; son, Jordan Fannon of Lima, OH; 3 grandchildren: Morgan (Donnie) Whitmore, Jess (Arianna) Leffler, Jade (Mason) Sidey; and 5 great grandchildren. James is also survived by Dee's adult children Mark, Lynn and Karen.
