James A. Hartsough III

February 18, 1943 — May 1, 2025

James "Jim" A. Hartsough lll, age 82, was born on February 18th, 1943 and passed peacefully Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 6:42 pm, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He went by many names "Jim" to his wife and friends, "Dad" to his daughters, and "Pops" to his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Carolynn Hartsough, daughters: Heidi (Eric) Hamm and Heather (Matt) Painter, grandchildren: Evan, Grant, Eve, Lydia, Keegan, and Nyah. Jim graduated from Dublin High school with his class of 50 in 1961. He married the love of his life, Carolynn Hamm on September 28th, 1969. He served in the National Guard and was a 683 Union electrician for 45 years and enjoyed his career.

He loved to spend time at the family farm with his friends and loved ones. Jim enjoyed riding his UTV, mowing and working in his sawmill. He filled his home with laughter and security. A unique hobby in his earlier years Jim traveled with his family showing mini-lop rabbits throughout the United States, creating many wonderful memories. Being a talented mechanic he solved many problems at the family tree farm whether it was electrical, a problem with the ATV, or otherwise. He could tell stories that would keep you laughing even long after he had told them; his humor was unequivocal, and he knew how to have a good time. He was a wonderful husband and father. The family that surrounded him on the day of his passing was a testament to the man he was and the future generations he helped build. God gave him a beautiful family, and he took those blessings, ran with them, and traveled almost as fast as the cars he loved.
