James E. Heydinger

November 17, 1957 — July 28, 2025

James "Jim" E. Heydinger, 67, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on July 28, 2025. Born in Willard, Ohio, on November 17, 1957, Jim lived a life filled with laughter, loyalty, and a love for the simple things that brought people together.

He was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan and found his greatest peace near Lake Erie—especially on Kelleys Island, his favorite getaway. Whether it was swapping stories, grilling out, or just enjoying a cold drink by the lake, Jim made the most of every trip.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Heydinger; his children, Jamie Heydinger, Jillian (Justin) Cullison; his grandchildren, Byron Cullison, Ellenor Cullison; his father, Marvin (Carolyn) Heydinger; his siblings, Dennis (Joan) Heydinger, Nancy (Roger) Howell, Jane Goodall, Rich Hass, Lori (Evie) Hass, Tracy Hass, as well as step siblings on his father’s side. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Hass, and brother-in-law, Brian Goodall.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2pm to 5pm on October 11th, 2025, at Shabby Cottage Farms, 2555 Pavonia Rd, Mansfield, OH. Food and refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory can be made to The James Cancer Hospital at OSU.
