James C. Lloyd Sr.

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father, friend and family member James C. Lloyd Sr., age 96, of Bellefontaine, OH on March 31, 2026. James was born March 21,1930, in Sumter South Carolina to the late Odessa Breeden and Ceil Loyd. James was sibling to sister, Grace Breeden and brothers: Darius Breeden and Hines Breeden whom all preceded him in death. James was father to fifteen children: James C. Lloyd Jr. (preceded in death), Robert Lloyd, Sheila Niffa, Cynthia (William) McCoy, Debra Lloyd, Peyton (Lomenzo) Clegg, Cori Lloyd, Kaytonya (Michael) Hill, Justin Lloyd, Charlesetta Tolliver, Aaron Berry (preceded in death), James Tanner (preceded in death). James had 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. 

James was in the United States Air Force and a Korean War veteran; honorably serving from 1950 -1956. James retired from Hobart Brothers with 20 plus years of service. He also was a renowned Harness Racing Horseman/Trainer for 48 years. James was also a founding member of the Moose Lodge Charter 2663. 

James's kindness, warmth and unwavering generosity touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on all who knew him. James will be remembered for his sense of humor, and the love he shared with those around him. We celebrate the legacy that he leaves behind and honor the profound influence he had on our community.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 3pm at 301 East Lake Ave Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
