Janice Curry Leber of Columbus, Ohio passed away on July 27, 2026. She was born on February 5, 1943 in Chester, PA, to Howard Marlin Curry, Jr and Verna Williams Curry. Janice is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul Robert Leber, Jr and four children: Paul Robert Leber, III, Jeffrey Leber, Lori Leber and Jennifer Leber, and her brother Richard (Maria) Curry. Janice also leaves nine grandchildren: Jeremiah (Corrine) Leber, Brittany Leber, Emily Leber, Matthew (Tatiana) Tabor, Stephanie (Lee) Borman, Daniel Tabor, Sarah Nesmith (Luke) Blake, Nathan McDonald and Jacob McDonald, and ten great-grandchildren.
Janice graduated with honors in 1960 from West Scranton High School. She worked in Scranton as a clerk for a local law firm, as a secretary for the PA Department of Health prior to becoming a full-time mother and homemaker in 1965.
Throughout Janice’s life, the family lived in Pennsylvania, Georgia, California and Ohio. Janice made each new house into a home. She enjoyed volunteering and serving the family’s Catholic church communities as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Bible Study Coordinator. Janice had a lovely singing voice and was an enthusiastic choir member and soloist. She was passionate about cooking, sewing, crossword puzzles, and spoiling her beloved cats.
At the end of 2001 Paul and Janice retired to Mesa, AZ. In their retirement, Janice thrived in community activities, especially singing with the Village Voices and playing ponytail canasta with friends. Paul and Janice traveled frequently, often sharing cruises with their children and grandchildren. Janice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
