Jeanne Ellery (Loomis) (Stephens) Taynor was an affectionate and loving mother. A strong and compassionate individual who had a passion for teaching and helping those who struggled with their mental health.
Jeanne was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and was the third daughter to John and Anita Loomis.
She grew up in Worthington, Ohio and graduated from Worthington High School in 1963. Jeanne went on to Miami University where she earned her degree with an AA in English.
In 1965, Jeanne was in a severe car accident where she was paralyzed partially on her left side; had a lobectomy, cholecystectomy, and splenectomy. Because of her strength and determination, Jeanne overcame the debility from the accident and regained the use of the left side of her body.
Jeanne went on to Otterbein College in Westerville where she earned her BS in psychology and then went on to pursue her MS at the Ohio State University.
Jeanne was a leader in service, she worked with women at Choices who were domestically abused, children at United Methodist Children's Home who were neglected, abused and had behavioral problems, and Rosemont Center, a crisis care center for girls. And then went on to teach GED to the homeless and in the prison system.
In 1968, Jeanne met Fred Stephens and they were quickly married in November. In August of 1969, her son Christopher was born. In 1973, to her great surprise she had twin girls Jeanette and Andrea. She claimed that they were the biggest twins born at Riverside Hospital.
Jeanne raised her three children on her own, however, God brought some great people into her life to help her along. It takes a village.
Jeanne is predeceased by her father John and her mother Anita Loomis. Her husband Michael Taynor; sisters Lynne Norton and Fredrica Spurgeon; daughter-in-law Jeanne Stephens; grandsons Travis Rodgers and Brandon Hollingsworth.
