Joanne Siew Hiong Lim

July 15, 1964 — May 5, 2026

If you ever met Joanne Lim, you probably left smiling. And, if you knew her well, you likely left laughing, feeling a bit better and with a plan to see her again soon. She was such a special person who made strangers at ease, acquaintances open up to her and friends adore her.

Joanne had a gift for finding silver lining in a dark cloud and spreading positive energy around. She was known for her pleasant disposition and and joyful spirit and was unfailingly helpful and compassionate to those around her.

Joanne passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026.

Born in Malaysia, she came to the USA to study and then worked at several companies in Pittsburgh and Columbus before ending at Ohio Laminating and Binding.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, CJ, who says he's still not tired of her daily stories and jokes; godson Yew Liang; 1 brother and 5 sisters; and a community of neighbors, co- workers and friends, who were really just extended family.

A celebration of Joanne's life will be held Saturday, MAy 16 at 10 AM at SGI-USA Columbus Buddhist Center at 3626 Main St. Hilliard OH 43026.

IN lieu of flowers, Joanne would want you to do something small and kind today and everyday. Compliment a stranger. Call your Mom. Be cheerful. Anything, no matter how trivial it seems, to make the world a brighter and better place for all the beings on this Earth.
