He graduated from Franklin High School.
He is survived by wife Virginia A. Ash; daughters Tina M. Shields, Michelle Ash, and Tina Ash; sons Robert Shields, Ronald Shields, Jimmy Ash, and Roger Ash; several family members and multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
