Josephine Alberta Eversole, born July 1,1928 from Baltimore, OH passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025 after a long and fulfilling life. In true form, she left this world with little fuss, much like the humble nurse she was.
Josephine married the neighbor farm boy, Edgar Denslow Eversole on January 1, 1950, and they raised four children: Dr. Dan (Sandra) Eversole of Blacksburg, VA, Drs. Jill (Mike) Nolan of Wakeman, OH, Joy (Dr. Farabee) McCarthy of Sycamore, OH, Dave (Stacia) Eversole of Rocheport, MO.
She is survived by her children and spouses; a brother, Ted Bader of Baltimore; 11 grandchildren Darren (Lindsey) Eversole, Eric (Whitney) Eversole, Dr. Mikal (Stanley Leahy) Eversole Nolan, Patrick J. Nolan, Rory (Akasia) McCarthy, Darcy McCarthy, Kara McCarthy, and Grace, Garrett, Ty, Lyla Eversole; and, six great-grandchildren Mckenzie and Madelyn Eversole, Fleur and Wilder Leahy, Killian McCarthy, Sterling Ruffin, several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was a 1946 graduate of Liberty Union H.S., where she was an active member of the band and orchestra. Josephine continued her education at Lancaster School of Nursing receiving a registered nurse degree, a bachelor’s degree in health from Ohio University and a master’s degree in education from Mount Saint Joseph, Cincinnati. Josephine was committed to maintaining connections with high school classmates over the years, serving as secretary of her class alumni group and organizing annual class reunions.
Josephine and Denslow operated a family farm, Tulip Lane Farm later known as Eversole Angus, in Baltimore, OH where they raised registered Angus cattle proudly sharing their knowledge and passion of agriculture. Josephine also served with distinction on the Ohio Angus Auxiliary, championing the woman’s role in the cattle industry and farm living.
A gifted artist, and later a dedicated school nurse for over 30 years at Lancaster City Schools and Logan Hocking School District, she touched countless lives with her creativity and vibrant spirit. Her passion for community shone through her many years volunteering at Baltimore Christ United Methodist Church, the Fairfield County Fair, Olivedale Senior Citizens Center, and Basil Garden Club.
Lifelong learning and a strong work ethic were core values that guided her throughout her life, and she instilled these ideals in her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from her family. She delighted in celebrating the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, her heart swelling with pride at every milestone.
Josephine is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, her parents Marietta (Lamb) and Dwight Bader, and sister Jean (Bader) Renkert.

There will be a Celebration-of-Life with Josephine’s family and friends at the Christ United Methodist Christ in Baltimore on Saturday, November 8 from 4:00 to 6:00. A private burial will take place beside her husband at the Violet Cemetery in Pickerington, OH.
