It is with profound sadness, yet also with gratitude for a life beautifully lived, that we share the news of Joyce Ann Duncan's peaceful passing. Joyce, who blessed our lives for 86 remarkable years, transitioned to her heavenly home on December 31, 2025. Her departure leaves an indelible mark, but her spirit of boundless love, unwavering kindness, and generous heart will forever resonate within us.
Born on October 6, 1939, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Emory and Garnet Dials. Her life was a testament to enduring devotion, most notably demonstrated through her nearly 67-year marriage to her beloved husband, Floyd Oliver Duncan. She now reunites with Floyd, her dear brother Frank, and the grandchild and great-grandchild who preceded her in death.
Joyce's legacy continues through her loving family, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her devoted sons, Guy and his significant other Bev, and Alan and his wife Mary. Her joy was multiplied by her seven cherished grandchildren and their spouses, and her eight precious great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Barb and Betty, along with a wide circle of extended family and countless friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and grace.
Joyce possessed a vibrant spirit, evident in her diverse passions. Her green thumb brought beauty to the world through her meticulously tended lily garden, a reflection of her nurturing soul. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books, while her delightful collections of bears, dolls, and frogs showcased a playful and whimsical side.
Beyond her hobbies, Joyce will be most remembered for her extraordinary heart. She embraced life with infectious enthusiasm and found her deepest joy in serving others, especially her own family. Whether she was extending a helping hand to a neighbor, offering a comforting word to a friend, or simply radiating compassion, her selflessness knew no bounds. As a mother, a friend, and a cornerstone of her community, she epitomized caring and understanding.
Joyce Ann Duncan’s memory is a blessing, a beacon of what it means to live with purpose, love deeply, and give freely. Though she will be profoundly missed, the countless acts of kindness she performed and the unconditional love she shared will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
