Judith (Judy) Ann Strauch, 83, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Zanesville, Ohio. A woman defined by her kindness and her creative spirit, Judy left a lasting impression on everyone she met, making friends easily wherever her journey took her.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, on November 30, 1942, to the late Alfred and Ruth Hunter, Judy was a proud graduate of Eastmoor High School, Class of 1960. Her natural artistic talent earned her a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design, a passion for beauty that stayed with her throughout her life. She later dedicated many years to a career in property management, from which she eventually retired.
Judy spent many years in Powell, Ohio, before making her lifelong dream a reality in 2007 by moving to Sarasota, Florida. She cherished her years in the sun, finding peace in the things she loved most: the beach, vibrant sunsets, and the beauty of nature. An ardent animal lover and a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Judy’s zest for life was as bright as the Florida sun she adored.
Judy’s greatest legacy is her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ruth Hunter. She is survived and deeply missed by daughters, Christine Devoe and Jodi Smith (David Smith), her grandchildren Joshua Devoe, Jonathan Ranalli (Olivia Ranalli), Tara Ranalli (Taylor Ranalli), Avery Smith, and Alexa Smith. She was a proud great grandmother to Emilee Devoe, Hazel Ranalli, and Elena Ranalli. She also leaves behind her brother, Donald Hunter (Debbie Hunter), her sister, Patti Autullo (Carmen Autullo), and nephews Jeremy Autullo and Ryan Autullo.
Judy will be forever remembered for her gentle heart, her love of a good sunset, and the warmth she extended to strangers and friends alike. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in the spring.
