Julia Marie Griffin

May 23, 1971 — April 17, 2026

Julia Marie Griffin, 54, passed away on April 17, 2026. She was born on May 23, 1971, in Zanesville, Ohio, to John Butts and Anita More.

Julia was a devoted wife to her husband, Samuel Griffin, and a loving mother to her three children: Maria Griffin, Vincent Griffin, and Adrian Griffin. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in the lives they built together. She is also survived by her father, John Butts, and her siblings: Alexis Ore, Andrea Thompson, John Jaan, Joanna Berger, Jarod More, and Allison Wargo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anita More.

Julia dedicated much of her professional life to education, serving as an English teacher and later as an academic and financial advisor at Zane State College. She believed deeply in the power of learning and guidance, and she impacted countless students with her patience, wisdom, and steady encouragement.

Outside of her work, Julia found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. She was an avid reader who could always be found with a book nearby, a creative scrapbooker who cherished preserving memories, and someone who never turned down a good puzzle. She also had a special bond with her beloved corgi, Gus, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. More than anything, she loved spending time with her husband and children—whether through quiet evenings, shared laughter, or everyday conversations that meant everything.

Julia will be remembered for her kindness, her thoughtful spirit, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the lives she shaped so deeply. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
