Kathryn Lee Fowles, 76, of Westerville, Ohio, laid down her earthly weight and set her soul to fly on September 20, 2026. She was born on September 5, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Walter Lee Fowles and Helen Marie (Takac) Fowles. Kathy was an advocate for all children. She spent her time on Earth, ensuring that every child she encountered felt seen, heard and loved - all while loving her three daughters, Jennifer (Frissora,) Vallella (Donnie Vallella), Katharine Frissora, and Toni Frissora (Ryan Nixon), and her four grandchildren, Dominic Vallella, Elaina Nixon, Charlie Nixon, and Harvey Nixon, unconditionally. Her capacity for love didn't end there; she shared an incredibly close, admirable bond with her sister, Mary (Fowles) Clark, and embraced her niece, Kimberly (Clark) Geddes, and nephew, Paul Clark, as if they were her very own. One of her favorite poems, "Song for a Fifth Child," by Ruth Hulbert Hamilton, describes her best: compassionate, empathetic, loving, caring, strong and simple.
"Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan,
Poison the moth,
Hang the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due.
Pat-a-cake darling, and peek, peekaboo.
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew.
And out in the yard, there's a hullabaloo.
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockabye lullabye loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow.
But children grow up as I've learned in my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."
Kathy, you will be missed greatly by your family on Earth, but it brings us great peace knowing that your soul has been freed and you have reunited with your family in Heaven.
To our mom, sister, Aunt Kathy, and what we know was your most cherished title, Grani, we love you so much.
