Kathryn Hollopeter, 95, formerly of Medina, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Wooster, Ohio. She was born February 28, 1928, in Paint Twp., Holmes County, Ohio, to Solomon III and Ida E. (Miller) Miller, and married Glenn K. Hollopeter on October 5, 1957. Glenn passed away on March 1, 2021. They were married for 63 years.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Monroe, Roy, Melvin, Clarence, and infant Solomon IV; and two sisters: Fae Miller and Irene Thomas.
Kathryn graduated with a B.A. in English from Goshen College and taught in church schools in the elementary grades for several years prior to marriage. In her youth, she committed her life to Christ and serving the church. She wrote three historical fiction books and enjoyed gardening, painting, and music.
Kathryn is survived by four children: Charlotte Sigmon, Randal (Donna) Hollopeter, Frederic (Karen) Hollopeter, and Lauren (Frank) Michal; nine grandchildren: Austin (Aviva), Hudson, Preston, Nina, Natalie, Heidi, and Tyler Hollopeter, Macie (Jon) Gassler, and Kathryn (Thomas) Marcus; one great-grandchild: Penelope Hollopeter; two sisters: Lena Wenger and Ida G. Byer; brother-in-law Paul E. Thomas, and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held June 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Lodi Community Church.
