Khymba Shani Pelham-Bush

September 6, 1993 — May 13, 2025

Khymba Shani Pelham-Bush, age 31 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on May 13, 2025 in Washington Court House, Ohio while surrounded by family and friends. Khymba courageously fought an advanced case of metastatic testicular cancer for 30 months with his warrior spirit. He eventually succumbed despite the valiant efforts of the OSU oncology care team and the wonderful staff at The James Cancer Hospital.

He was born in Oregon, Ohio and was the son of Blythe Pelham and Stephen Bush. Khymba was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Kenneth and Miriam Bush, his maternal grandfather JM Pelham and his beloved cat Pikachu.

Khymba was always a nature boy who relished whatever the outdoors had to offer. He was an avid photographer and effortlessly captured unique images of the world. Khymba was fiercely and forever an individual wanderer with multi-generational friends. He was kind, gentle and generous — an old soul and a hobo at heart.

Surviving family members include his maternal grandmother Carol Hosford, his parents, his siblings Catyana Pelham-Bush and Kellin Bonilla, and his cherished cat Tumnus.

Instead of flowers, Khymba's family suggests that his friends plant a tree or native plant — or simply take a walk/run in the woods.
