Larry Leroy Houck

Larry Leroy Houck, 74, passed away on September 5, 2026, following his battle with cancer.

Larry was born on February 11, 1952, to the late Arthur Leroy Houck and Irene Elizabeth Houck. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Karen Medlock and Lynda Houck. His grandson, Erik Rohr.

Larry was a mechanic and line technician for most of his life. He was a hardworking man with a lifelong love of cars. That love eventually led him into drag racing, which became his passion and an important part of his life. The friendships and memories he made through racing were something he treasured deeply.

While living in Florida, Larry enjoyed boating, saltwater fishing, and spending time outdoors. He also had a special love for animals, especially his dogs, Midnight, Zoey, and Sophie. He also loved his grand pups, Aria and Aero.

Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vicki; their daughter, Katie Horn (David), his daughter, Jennifer Houck (Danny); and his son, Larry Houck II (Heather).

He was a loving grandfather to Gabe (Kayla), Payton (Colt), Marcus, and Ethan. He was also a great-grandfather to Airius, Jasper, Kire, Hudson, and Vernon.

Larry is also survived by his nephew, Mike Webster (Nicole), and his niece, Mindy (Rob), along with their children, Kennedy (Skyler) and their son Lincoln. Reagan, and Jayce. His Nephew, Tony Webster. His brother in-law, Owen Medlock.

A special thank you goes to Larry’s best friend, Jimmy Solomon and his wife, Jean, for their friendship and the many memories they shared. Larry will also be deeply missed by all of his racing buddies, who shared his passion for racing and so many good times along the way.

A special thank you also goes to Ryan and Chelsea Mayse, and their children, Hudson and Aria, for the love, friendship, and memories they shared with Larry.

Larry’s memory will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all those who loved him.

Rest in peace, Larry. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
