Lois Belcher, age 79, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026 at Mt. Carmel East hospital.
She was born on January 15, 1946, in St. Louisville, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Vivian McArtor. Lois spent her life building deep connections, cherishing family, and spreading kindness wherever she went.
Lois was the beloved wife of Charles Belcher, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
She was a devoted mother to Jodi (Chod) Yarnelli, Paige (John) Frisbie, and Chad (Stacy) Belcher. Her pride and joy extended to her grandchildren: Chase (Jenny) Yarnelli, Tyler Yarnelli, Cianna Woltz-Yarnelli, Kalie (Bubba Travis) Belcher, Whitney Hoover, Austin Hoover, and Zane Caldwell, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren Gabby, Camden, Bryce, Lyric, and Hunter.
Lois was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Mytchal Belcher; her parents Ralph and Vivian McArtor; her brothers Jerry, Larry, and Ronnie McArtor; her sister Judy VanKirk; and her father-in-law Everett Belcher, whom she loved as her own father, along with many cherished in-laws.
Known as a true social butterfly, Lois never met a stranger. Her warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She would help anyone in need without hesitation. She found joy in bingo, trips to the casino, working puzzles, and—most of all—spending time with her family, who meant everything to her.
Lois will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her kind heart, infectious spirit, and the love she gave so freely. The family will have a “Celebration of Life” gathering at a later date.
