Loren D. Waits 86, of Hillsboro, Ohio gained his wings on January 12th. 2026. He was born August 30th. 1939 in Darbyville, Ohio and was the son of the late Alfred G. Waits and Evelyn Waits (Shade). He was also preceded in death by a sister Shirley Y. Waits (Manson) and a step brother Kenneth R. Shade. He graduated from Darbyville High School. He later served three years in the United States Army, December 1960, and received an Honorable Discharge December 1963. After honorably serving his country in the United States Army he went on to continue his service by joining the Reserves until November 1966. He later became a retail manager at Picway Shoes (Kobacker Stores) and remained there as store manager for thirty years (until the company closed) He then worked at Forward Air (a trucking Company) until retirement. After retiring, he then took a part time job at B.C. Excavating, then at a gas station to fill his days. Loren was a workaholic. His favorite pass time was mowing his grass, washing his cars, remodeling, and enjoying his grandkids. He will be greatly missed. He was a loving husband for 46 years, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. The world is a little darker without him. Surviving family, wife Wanda D. Waits (Doris), Daughter Mitzie Y.Waits (Travis). Son's Chuck Waits (Ashley) and Lealin. Also (son's not family orientated) 12 grandkids, 10 great grandkids, and 23 foster kids (3 special) Jeremy, Bobby, and Crystal Jennings. Family pets, Micah, Nova, and Sparkles. Step brother Gary Shade. Special friends, Bill Esteph, Jim Null, Dan Hunter, and Have Ferrell. (Service at a later date) To some he may be forgotten, to others a part of the past, but to those who LOVE and LOST him, his memory FOREVER will last.
