Maggie

February 6, 1956 — July 9, 2023

Margaret Ann Perkins (Webb), affectionately known as Maggie, passed away on July 9, 2023, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born on February 6, 1956, in Monterey, California, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be remembered for her passionate, loving, and thoughtful nature.

Maggie studied at The Ohio State University, where she fostered a love for learning and a strong work ethic. Following her college years, she embarked on a career in the Transportation Industry. From driving semi-trucks to managing operations and dispatching. A woman of many interests, Maggie was particularly fond of her canine and feline companions, often remarking on the joy and comfort they brought to her life. Music was another one of Maggie's passions. She loved playing the guitar and listening to one of her favorite Stevie Nicks songs.

Maggie leaves behind a loving family and many close friends who cherished her deeply. She is survived by her four children, James (Dan ) and Laura Hammond, Jolene Weaver, Nelson Smith, and Mia Smith. She was a proud and doting grandmother to her eleven grandchildren: Jenna, Carter, and Cooper Hammond; Curstan and Raymond Grubb; Cierra, Dylan Smith: Mercedes, Haley, and Vincent Smith.

Maggie's battle with colon cancer was brief. She faced her illness with bravery, showing her loved ones that even in adversity, it is possible to find strength. Her life was a testament to her character: passionate, loving, and thoughtful. She lived how she wanted and made no apologies for it. Her memory will live on in the many lives she touched and the love she shared.

Maggie was a bright light in this world. As we remember her, we celebrate her life, her love, and the many ways she touched our hearts. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories we cherish and the love she left.
