Mark Queen, 43, passed away in Columbus Ohio on August 22, 2025. He was preceded in death by his Domestic Partner, Nicholas “Tony” Basso; his Grandfather, Burl W Smith of St Marys WV; his Grandparents, Donovon and Lois Queen of Pennsville OH; his Grandparents, Danny and Genet Higgins of St Marys WV; his uncle Earl Queen of Pennsville OH. He is survived by his parents, Dannie and Christine Queen residing in Sebastian FL; his sister, Desiree Queen and her fiancé Justin Welch, of Raleigh NC; his grandmother, Louella Smith of Newport OH along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Mark had many passions during his life. He loved the art of cooking. He enjoyed trying the latest kitchen gadgets, appliances and technics available. He had a knack for interior design and was well versed at making numerous electronics co-ordinate to enhance each living space. Mark and Tony were advocates for animal rescue and adopted multiple animals during their 20 years together. They were also active supporters of the LGBTQ+ community of Columbus OH. He loved music. As a 2000 graduate of Warren High School and band member, Mark continued his self-study of music by practicing with drums, keyboard and the violin. In addition, he was an avid online gamer (aka Venji Fox).
He will be greatly missed by those he left behind. May we all find some comfort in the hope that Mark and Tony are now enjoying endless adventures in the places beyond this world. A celebration of life ceremony will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mark’s name to your local animal shelter would be appreciated.
