Marla Sue Gillum

Marla Sue Gillum passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026 at Tuscany Gardens nursing home in Pataskala, Ohio under Bella Care Hospice.

She was born April 29, 1948 in Newark, Ohio to George Dale and Mildred K.(Lindamore) McFarland.Marla was a 1966 graduate of Lakewood High School where she was a cheerleader and attended Eastland Career Center for Cosmetology. She was a hair stylist for 25 years, worked for 6 years at Victoria Secret warehouse and 7 years at Dawes Arboretum before retiring.

Marla loved her family and would help anyone in need, she loved to laugh and always had a joke to share. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, shopping and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter Kelly(Mike) Trein of Pataskala, Son Matthew(Kristina)Gillum of Bremen. Seven grandchildren, Taylor(Jacob) Justice, Ty(Kasey)Trein, Isaiah and Haley Gillum, Madelyne Wheeler, Damian and Ember Darnell, four great grandchildren, Hudson, Brooks, Cade and Cooper. Sibling Michael McFarland, Niece Kim(Nick) Trubiano, nephew Kevin(Mandy) McFarland and several cousins.In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband of 48 years Junior Russell Gillum, stepson Russell Junior Gillum and her sister in law Donita McFarland.
