Michael "Mike" Brooks, 71, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 15, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adelbert Brooks and Rita (John) Brooks-Frankeberger, as well as his brothers, James and Robert Brooks.

Mike is survived by his brother, Pat (Jill) Brooks; sisters, Mary Jo Boldizsar, Ruth Anne (Bruce) Sumner, Adele Huffman (Merrice Eisenbise), and Rita Hall. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews—and even a few great-great ones, too!

Mike was as ornery as they come—and that was exactly his charm. If he was teasing you, it meant he cared. And if you told him, “I love you,” he’d always say, “I love you more!”

He loved playing cards, going fishing, and spending time with family. His humor, warmth, and spirited nature will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
