Nelia "Nel" Francisco Mesh

Nelia "Nel" Francisco Mesh, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio

Born on February 23, 1944 in Columbus to Yolanda Maria (Gugleilmi) and John Francisco.  Nel built a long and successful career as a realtor in the Columbus area.  She took great pride in helping countless families find their perfect homes.

A devoted parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Powell, Nel enjoyed dedicating her time to volunteering with the Powell Sertoma Club and the Sons of Italy.  She was immensely proud of her Italian heritage and famous for her Italian Wedding Soup, which she would serve each year to family and friend's at her Christmas gathering.  Nell was know for her hospitality - she would make sure you were well fed and would be offended if you did not get seconds.

Nel was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and loved cheering on the team during game days.  Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her family and friends.  Of all her roles in life, she treasured being Nonna to her granddaughters, making memories that will last a lifetime.

In addition to her parents, Nel was preceded in death by her brothers John J. Francisco, Jr. and Ralph (Carolyn) Francisco.  She is survived by her son Jude (Amy), granddaughters Audrey and Ellie , extended family, and many friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10700 Liberty Rd., Powell on June 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nel's memory to St Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Columbus Alzheimer's Care Center and Suncrest Hospice for their compassionate care.
