Patricia Ann Dottle

Patricia Dottle, 86, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at Delaware Court Nursing Home in Delaware, Ohio.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Patricia was the daughter of Hugh and Charlene Swyers Young. She lived a life centered on family, friendship, creativity, and caring for others in countless quiet ways. For 20 years, she made her home at Oakhurst Place in Delaware, where she built lasting friendships and became a treasured part of the community.

Patricia expressed her love through the things she made and shared. Family and friends eagerly looked forward to her delicious Italian meatballs and sauce, her homemade banana bread, and the traditional Italian pizzelle cookies she lovingly prepared each Christmas. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, welcome, and wonderful memories.

Her creativity extended far beyond cooking. Patricia enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and felting, always finding joy in making beautiful things with her hands. Whether tending flowers, creating handmade gifts, or sharing a favorite recipe, she brought care and thoughtfulness to everything she did.

Patricia worked throughout her life in Columbus, Ohio at the United States Trotting Association, Ashland Chemical, T. Marzetti Company and Capital Awards. She was hardworking, dependable, and proud of the contributions she made over the years.

Above all, Patricia cherished her family. She is survived by her children, Josephine Coner (Scott), Marianne Dottle (Dave), Rick Dottle (Darlene), and Patricia Landis (Mike); her nieces, Rita Young and Vicki Boley; her grandchildren, Shawn McCreight (Julie), Robert Shera (Becky), Jeremy McCreight (Jessica), and Jessica Panagopoulos (Tom); and her beloved great-grandchildren, Rowan, Evie, Cooper, Johnalyn, Isla, Lily, and Jaxton. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Adam Brown.

Patricia will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, the comfort of her home-cooked meals, and the love she gave so freely to family and friends. The traditions she created and the memories she leaves behind will continue to bring warmth and joy to all who knew her.

A celebration of Patricia’s life for her Oakhurst Place friends and neighbors is being planned for August 22 from 1-3 PM, and a family gathering will be held in October.

Her legacy lives on in the hands that learned from her, the recipes that will continue to be shared, and the love that remains in the hearts of her family and friends.
