Patricia “Patti” Von Ville, née DeWitt, entered into eternal life on October 5, 2026, at age 84, after a two-year battle with breast cancer. She died peacefully at her home in Columbus, Ohio, while surrounded by her family, and will be deeply missed.
Patti graduated from South High School in 1960. Later in life, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse. She was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University School of Nursing and was a retired RN from the Columbus Public Health Tuberculosis Clinic. Some of Patti’s passions were dancing, singing, playing games, and watching murder mysteries and crime dramas, but the main constant in her life was the love and devotion she showed to her family. She was so proud of her children, and her grandchildren brought her endless joy. During her younger years, she held offices in Parents without Partners as well as with the Cambridge Singles Club. She was a Girl Scout Leader, participated in Toastmasters, and led a health ministry at Faith Lutheran Church where she also served as the parish nurse.
Survived by children Stephanie Velez (Ruben), Susan Millwater (Marc), Lisa Gillenwater, and Grant Von Ville (Alexis Wittich), grandchildren Que Vangundy-Jones (Troy), Cameron Jones (Kelsey Kirsch), Sabrina Vedovato, Michael Vedovato, Cassie Von Ville, Kayleigh VonVille and Izzy VonVille, and great-granddaughter Melody Jones. Also survived by her siblings Joe DeWitt (Mary), Tom DeWitt (Lil), and Laura Hannah (Everett), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and stepfamily members. Preceded in death by husband Ed Von Ville, siblings Mary Eager and Carol Crader, and parents Norma Hampton and Joe DeWitt Sr.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church at 455 Clark State Rd in Gahanna on Friday, 10/23/26 at 11:00 AM. Family will see friends and family 1 hour before the service. Lunch will follow.
A graveside service will take place at St Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High St, Lockbourne, OH, Monday, 10/26/26 at 1:30 PM.
