Petra McNeil

Petrra McNeil, age 61, passed away on February 7, 2026. Born on July 29, 1964 in Kirchheimbolnden, Germany, she later built her life in Dayton, Ohio. Petra was a loving soul whose greatest joy was her family and whose warmth, kindness and laughter touched everyone who knew her.

Petra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne McNeil; her children, Shawn McNeil and his wife, Fola McNeil, Amanda Swartz and her husband, Ryan Swartz and Tim McNeil; her cherished grandchildren, Lelaau McNeil, Evelyn Swartz and Nicholas Swartz and her sister, Andrea Munzlinger.

Petra's life was defined by kidness, creativity and a wonderful snse of humor. She was the best baker and cook around and her meals especially her beloved Sauerbraten, brought family and friends together time and time again. She devoted herself to supporting military member and veterans using her talents to make a difference in the lives of others. She lovingly crocheted hats for the homeless, alway searching out to help those in need.

Those who knew Petra will remember her for the love and kindness she freely showed to everyone around her. Her quick wit, infectious laughter and well-timed jokes could light up any room. She made people fell welcome and cared for in a way that felt effortless and genuine.

Petra leave behind a legacy of kindness, warmth and laughter that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. she will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A private service will be held at Dayton Veterans National Cemetery on June 3, 2026. In lieu of flower , he family kindly requests that donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Charity in Petra's honor.
