Richard "Dick" C. Robinson

August 29, 1927 — December 24, 2025

Richard “Dick” Robinson, 98, a longtime resident in the Washington Metro suburbs, peacefully went to heaven on December 14, 2025. He was born in Walton, NY and grew up in the towns of Ithaca and Canisteo, NY.

Dick joined the Navy as an Electronics Technician in 1945 and was discharged in summer of ’46, as World War II was over. He met his lifelong love and wife, Emily, while attending Alfred University where he received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree. Dick furthered his education at Kent State and graduated in 1952 with a Masters Degree in Physics. He worked various private sector jobs in his early career as a Research Analyst Physicist; finishing the last half of his career working for the government at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Rockville, MD. Dick and Emily moved from Maryland in 2019 to Ohio, to be near family who could assist in their elderly years.

Dick lived a full life and enjoyed his hobbies of playing his cornet, jogging and rec league softball; but his real passion was for Duplicate Bridge. He had the same bridge partner for many years and they did very well, receiving many awards. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Kensington for almost 50 years and was a Sunday School teacher for the adult class.

Dick is survived by his wife, of 76 years, Emily Worth Robinson; his son Richard J. Robinson; his daughters and their husbands Barbara and Robert Carter, Ginger and Jeffrey Eppley, Deborah and Dennis Pesce; his twelve grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
