Scott Richard Homer, 55, of Lancaster, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13th 2024 at The Pickering House after a long illness. He was born to Richard Lee and Darlene Kay Homer on December 24th 1968 at Lancaster Community Hospital in Lancaster. Scott graduated from Lancaster High School in 1987. He attended nursing school at Hocking College and became an LPN. He worked at Rienschield’s in Bremen, OH and most recently at several of the surrounding McDonald’s restaurants owned by the Harper Management Company where he was a shift manager. He was employed by the company for 17 years. Scott had many interests outside of work that included cheering on his favorite football teams USC and the South Carolina Panthers, gaming on his computer, and playing D&D with his sons. He loved the ocean and the beach and all things surf related. Music was an integral part of Scott’s daily life and his tastes were multifaceted. Scott attended The Tree Church in Lancaster, OH and served as a member of the production team. If one were to ask Scott what was most important to him, he would say without hesitation that it was his family.
Scott is survived by: his loving wife of almost 10 years, Jennifer Homer of Lancaster, OH, his parents Richard and Darlene Homer of Chillicothe, OH, his son Christopher Scott Homer (Stevie Vaneck) of Pittsburgh, PA, step-daughters Kylie Eyman (Patrick Stephens) of Bremen, OH and Makenzi Eyman of Chillicothe, OH, step-sons Jared Eyman (Shayla Smith) and Caleb Eyman of Lancaster, OH, his brother Brian Homer of Mesa, AZ, his mother-in-law Cheri Wellington of Lancaster, OH, many brothers and sisters-in-law, and 11 grandchildren.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandmother Doris Gaines, aunt Scharlene Bowers, father-in-law James Wellington, and granddaughter Abygail Riley.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate the life of Scott Richard Homer to be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at The Tree Church 721 N. Memorial Dr. Lancaster, OH. 43130. Followed by a meal for the family. In lieu of flowers, Scott’s wishes are to have donations made to The Fairhope Hospice Pickering House and The Tree Church.
