Steve Glenn Bair

Steven Glenn Bair (11/28/1964 – 9/28/2026) was born on November 28th 1964 to Lowell “Glenn” Bair and Florance “June” (Timmons/Neff) Bair in Anderson, IN. He grew up on the Westside of Columbus, along side his siblings, Deborah Coffee and David (Kathryn) Bair. He graduated from Franklin Heights High School class of 1983. Within two years he had married the love of his life, Angela (Gleich) Bair, and started their family. They were blessed (or cursed depending on the day) with Jennell (Michael) Rue and Brandon (Virginia) Bair. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Kathryn Bair, and his beloved niece, Pamela Coffee.

Steve was a Route Salesman for Schwebel’s Baking Company where he served as the Union Steward for Teamsters Local 284 for the majority of his 30 years before retirement. After retirement he began working at Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber as a Maintenance Associate. Within 6 months, Steve’s interpersonal skills, experience, and compassion for others saw him promoted to Maintenance Supervisor. Working with the community, both staff and residents, at Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber brought him such pride and fulfillment.

If there is one legacy that Steve was known for, it was his ability to walk into a room and make you feel right at home. He spent all of his free time creating safe and welcoming spaces for those who were most overlooked. Whether it was through church youth groups, congregational leadership, teaching outdoorsmanship, sharing survival skills, teaching conversation, coaching youth sports, singing in choirs, and volunteering. In retirement he learned he could mix several of his loves, as he and Angie started helping with Hunt Tests and Field Trials in the AKC, where he became an AKC Hunt Test Judge. In retirement Steve was able to fulfill a long time dream of joining the cast of the Ohio Renaissance Faire, where he discovered a new family of people just like him, who worked to create a safe and magical corner of the world.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Ohio Living Westminster Thurber Retirement Community, Heritage Point Community Room 655 Neil Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43215. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation begin at 6:30 PM. Special arrangements for his Faire Family will be published at a later date.
