On Thursday, November 17, Susan Inge Amateis, a beloved wife, mom and Mimi, passed away after a valiant fight with an aggressive soft tissue sarcoma. She was sixty-seven years old. Sue devoted her life to children, her very own, Megan and Carson and to her many children in the elementary classroom. She was a teacher in South Florida for 37 years. Sue was best known for her craftiness, a witty sense of humor, and her generous spirit.
Sue is survived by her husband Roland, her daughter Megan, son Carson, son-in-law Jay, daughter-in-law Aundi and five grandsons – Bennett, Jack, Lincoln, Owen and Hudson. Being a Mimi was her most honored of titles in life. She loved to spend any extra time spoiling her many grandsons.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 21 at 3pm at Scarlet City Church in Columbus, Ohio. There will also be a second memorial service in Lake Worth, Florida after the holidays. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
