Terry Wayne Boblitt, 78, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 10, 2023, at Miami County Hospice. Born on July 2, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Terry was a faith-filled, selfless, and loving individual who touched the lives of many with his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Janice Boblitt of Tipp City, OH; They were joined in marriage on January 29, 1965 at First Christian Church in Springfield, OH. They were married for 58 years. He is also survived by sons Randall (Charlotte) Boblitt of Troy, OH and Kevin (Elizabeth) Boblitt of Huber Heights, OH; grandchildren Sienna Boblitt (16), Hannah Boblitt (13), and Samuel Boblitt (10); sister Susan (Bill) Ruby from Portsmouth, OH; sisters-in-law Lexie Boblitt from Springfield, OH and Liz Christensen (Xenia, OH). He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Wayne Boblitt and Jeanette Estep; daughter, Shari Boblitt; and brothers Ronald Boblitt and Steve Estep.
A proud graduate of Springfield South High School in 1962, Terry went on to earn a BS in Education from Cedarville College in 1968 and a MA in Education from Wright State University in 1977. Throughout his career in education, Terry served as a teacher at Dayton and Greenville City Schools, an assistant principal at Greenville City Schools, and a principal at Mt. Blanchard Riverdale Schools. Following his retirement from education, Terry enjoyed working in various sales positions.
Terry's unwavering faith in God was a guiding light in his life. He was a lifetime elder at Gateway Church in Findlay, OH, and cherished the moments spent worshiping at Grace Church in Sarasota, FL. Terry's love for his faith was evident in every aspect of his life, from his dedication to his family to the way he embraced and supported his community.
Outside of his professional and spiritual pursuits, Terry was passionate about singing and acting in local community theater. His favorite role was playing Kris Kringle during a production of Here’s Love. He delighted in traveling/going on cruises and exploring new places alongside his beloved wife, Janice, and the couple enjoyed many adventures together, both near and far. Terry enjoyed boating trips with family and friends, camping, thrifting, and riding motorcycles/scooters around the countryside.
Terry's love for his family was paramount, and he took great pride in his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He relished every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, Sienna, Hannah, and Samuel, and his love for them knew no bounds. Terry enjoyed spending time with many special lifelong friends during trips, gatherings, and other outings. Terry also had a deep appreciation for sports, particularly Ohio State football, Cincinnati Reds baseball, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. His favorite winter destination was a villa in Sarasota, FL, where he and Janice created many unforgettable memories together.
As we celebrate Terry's life, we are reminded of a quote by Laura Ingalls Wilder- “Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.”
In loving memory of Terry Wayne Boblitt, may we carry his spirit with us and strive to live our lives with the same faith-filled, selfless, and loving heart that he so generously shared with the world. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Gateway Church (North Main Campus- 620 N Main St, Findlay, OH, 45840) at 11 AM with a lunch reception following.
