Troy Michael Hanshaw, widely known and cherished as Troy, passed away peacefully in Portsmouth, OH, on May 29, 2024, at the age of 43, surrounded by his loving family. Troy was born on April 26, 1981, in Ironton, OH, to Donald Eugene Bowen and the late Barbara Jean Mershon.


Survived by his beloved wife Jessica Hanshaw, Troy's legacy continues through his vibrant family including his children, Halee (Gavin) Jordan, Kelsey Queen, Kenton Hanshaw, Cheyenne Bennington, Megan (Preston) Schiltz, Taylor Hanshaw, and Brooklyn Hanshaw; and his treasured grandchildren, Addy Jo, Sophia, Kyson, Mia, Remington, Mareya, JoJo, Kyleigh, Waylon, Michael, Hailie, and Emilie. He is also survived by his father, Donald Eugene Bowen; siblings, Shawn Hanshaw, Donald (Bub) Bowens, Jason (Amanda) Bowens, and Melissa (Nick) Nicholson; along with many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother TJ Hanshaw, his mother, and his grandparents, Robert Bowens, Roland Mershon, and Janet Wicker. Surviving is Joan Dunham; grandmother.


Troy was the successful owner of T & J Pressure Washing, an enterprise that not only cleaned and refreshed countless properties but also served as a vessel for his enterprising spirit and commitment to his community. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his hands were skilled in all he undertook—leading his business to prosper along with his reputation as a selfless and dedicated professional.


Above all, Troy's passion was his family. He was a loving husband, an exceptional father, and an adoring grandfather. His love of football, particularly the Cincinnati Bengals, was only eclipsed by the joy he found in the outdoors and the time spent with his loved ones. Whether coaching a game, sharing a story around a bonfire, or taking on a family project, Troy invested all of himself into making every moment count. His warm heart and comforting presence will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.Those who knew Troy would describe him as loving, selfless, and handy. His compassionate nature and willingness to lend a hand spoke volumes about the man he was, continuously reflecting the golden rule in his daily life—treating others with the same kindness and respect he so naturally extended to everyone he met.
